Newport Driving Lessons

Providing an interactive classroom experience where students learn to identify threats, mitigate risks, and maintain control is critical. Feedback is provided after each drive in person and as an emailed form for parents to review. The reports indicate the students strengths as well as weaknesses and areas of focus for improvement.

WA State Driver’s Education Course – $550

Available to students 15 and older, this covers:

  • 30 classroom hours (1 parent night, 17 instructional classes)
  • 4 hours of simulation (accounts for 1 hour of behind the wheel driving)
  • 5 hours of behind the wheel driving lessons (5 one-hour drives)
  • 1 hour of observation (backseat ride along)

STEP 1: Before registering you must obtain a WDL# for your student: https://www.dol.wa.gov/driverslicense/getpermit.html
Follow the link above. Click on “Pre-Apply” and follow the instructions.
Once you have your WDL# you can fill out the registration form below.

STEP 2: Once registered for class and the $100 non-refundable deposit is paid, I will enroll the student in my school with the DOL.

STEP 3: After I have enrolled the student with the DOL, and if it is within 10 days of the start of class, you can get their Instructional Permit ONLINE. Log back in to SAW (where you got your WDL) to print off your permit. If you would like a picture on the permit, you must go to the DOL in person. The nearest office is in Spokane, but we do have a local Newport branch which is open on Wednesdays and appointments can be booked online through the DMV or you can try just stopping by.
